Creating ScreenPlay CD from a CD-ROM image

The easiest way to add new features to your ScreenPlay, is via a CD image. A single CD-ROM image file contains all the information necessary to create a complete CD with all the need files and directories. CD image file typically have a .ISO file extension and are compatible with most CD burn applications (such as Nero Burning ROM and EasyCD Creater.)

To create a CD from an image file do the following:

  • 1) The *.ZIP file must be first decompressed using a tool like WinZIP. There are many freeware equivalents also Window XP has ZIP extraction tools built in. Extracting the ZIP file will release the *.ISO file contained within.
  • 2a)Double click on the *.ISO file. This should automatically launch your CD burning software into the correct mode of operation. At this point you need to do little more than place a blank CD-R (or CD-R/W) in the CD burner and press "Write CD". You may also need to select for the disk to be closed (or finalized).

  • 2b)If your software doesn't automatically start when double clicking the ISO file, launch your CD burning software manually. There will be an option to burn a CD from an ISO file. Select the "Burn Image..." option from the file menu. You will be prompted for the *.ISO file, if not you have selected the wrong option. Once you load the ISO file, place a blank CD-R (or CD-R/W) in the CD burner and press "Write CD". You may also need to select for the disk to be closed (or finalized).
  • 3) Test the CD by first viewing it on your PC. The top directory will have at a minimum a directory called "upgrade".
  • 4) Add the CD into ScreenPlay to install the new features.
